Tell us a little about your family – parents, siblings, pets, etc.
I have lived in Big Lake my whole life with my mom and my dad, both of whom are teachers. I have one older brother attending college at UND, and we own three pets: two cats and a Corgi.

What are some of your hobbies and/or interests?
I like to create art in many different ways. I make digital and traditional art pieces in my free time. I’ve played several instruments in my life, and I enjoy listening to music, as well. I enjoy spending time with my friends; going on hikes, playing games, and seeing live performances are some of our favorite things to do. I have a passion for reading and writing, and I appreciate a meaningful story.
Tell us about a favorite school memory (any grade)
One of my favorite memories from school would have to be seeing Shrek: The Musical. Many of my friends were involved in the production, and I did my absolute best to support them. Watching them enjoy theater gave them the confidence to get more involved in activities this year, and I’m glad that I could contribute my time and effort into our theater productions.
Tells us about a favorite teacher, coach, school staff member, etc. who made a difference in your life/education (can include more than one and any grade).
Ms. Seth, my 7th grade English teacher, has been very supportive of me past middle school and into high school. She attends various events we perform at for band and theater. I often like to stop by her classroom and tell her how things have been going. She made class enjoyable, and I am very glad to be well acquainted with her.
What has been your favorite subject to study in school and why?
My favorite subject in school is science and all of its related classes. I am very interested in how the natural world works, and I believe that understanding it helps me live a more fulfilling life. Science helps propel our world forward, and it can help make the world a better place.
What has been the most challenging part of senior year for you?
I think balancing the activities I’m in and my academics has been the most challenging part. There were many times this year where I stayed late into the evening for the musical or to attend a sports event for pep band. In the end, I had to compromise with studying and knowing how much time I should be spending on extracurriculars.
What has been the best part of senior year?
The best part of senior year has been connecting with people. I’ve gotten to do so many new things with my friends, both in and out of school, and we’ve made many lasting memories. This final year of high school has been one of the best years of my life, and I owe it to all of the people who’ve been with me all these years.
Have you made any plans for after graduation (additional schooling, work, etc.) and if so, what are they?
I plan to attend the College of Saint Benedict to major in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
Where do you see yourself in 5, 10 years? What goals do you have for the future?
I hope to have graduated from St. Bens and to have a job that I not only enjoy, but one that helps better life for other people. As I attend college, my goal is to learn about job opportunities and connect with others who could assist me with finding the right career.
Tell us a one or two dreams/bucket list items you have for yourself
I’d like to make one lasting contribution in medicine or combat climate change by addressing greenhouse gases and renewable energy sources. I want to be able to make the world a better place, and I’d like my legacy to impact people long into the future.
Are there any classmates who made a positive difference in your life/education that you would like to mention?
I’d like to give my thanks to some of my closest friends, including Jadyn Rust, who encouraged me to join many extracurriculars that made my senior year truly special.
What are some things you like about our city of Big Lake in general?
I like to see how Big Lake grows and improves with each passing year. From new businesses to community events, there are more opportunities than ever for people to see what Big Lake has to offer.
What Big Lake establishments/businesses/restaurants are your favorites?
Ember coffee is one of my favorite spots in Big Lake. The employees are extremely courteous, and it’s a lovely spot to meet up with friends or get a bit of work done
What advice would you give younger students as they continue their education?
Giving up is the greatest disservice you can do to yourself. Persevere when things get difficult, because it will make things easier in the future. Push yourself to keep learning new things. Challenges lead to growth.
