I was a member of the postal service for 30 years. My husband Don was also a member for 34 years. Thirteen of those 30 years were spent in Big Lake at the post office. I have also been a member of the Legion Auxiliary since 1988. My husband was also a member of the Legion. I enjoy gardening, boating, golfing and my friends.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have two sons and one daughter. My husband Don passed away last year.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
I like them all!
Q: Please tell us about your current, past or future career plan. What do you/did you love most about it?
I love retirement most of all. I’ve been retired for 22 years.

Since 1988.

Q: Do you have any pets? If so, what are they and what are their names?
I used to have a small dog. Then we ended up caring for a small cat we named Cat. Between us and our neighbor, the retirement home for her, she lived 24 years.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV Shows?
Wheel of Fortune and Netflix shows.
Q: What is your favorite holiday? Favorite season?
Christmas is one of my favorite holidays but winter it isn’t my favorite season. Fourth of July at my daughter’s home is another favorite holiday.
Q: What advice would you give to people living in Big Lake?
Get out and enjoy the lakes.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I have already done most of my bucket list but I would love to get back to Mazatlan again.

The Post Office
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Veterans Memorial downtown and the Freedom Rock
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Hopefully still around but whatever I can get is good.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
Once in a while I play bingo. That’s different for me.
