My name is Alyssa Sigafus and my family has been a part of the Big Lake community all of my life. I graduated from BLHS in 2007 and went to college at UMD / U of M Twin Cities where I studied abroad in Florence, Italy and that’s where I met my husband. We were married in early 2012 and blessed with our daughter in late 2013. I’ve volunteered extensively with the Big Lake Ambassador scholarship program since being a Big Lake ambassador in 2006-2007. Currently our daughter Sophia has continued the legacy of representing Big Lake and is 2022-2023 Little Miss Big Lake Ambassador. In 2016 I was selected as the 2016 Aurora Queen of the Snows for the St. Paul Winter Carnival. Within that year I participated in over 400 events all over the US and Canada and was so happy to bring Winter Carnival to Big Lake for the first time ever! Currently I work as a Marketing Manager for Shutterfly and I’m enjoying working from home. My family also owns the 3rd Rail Bar & Grill in town and it truly is a family owned and run business. We have 2 dogs, our little Frenchie named Izzy and our Boxer named Winnie. We are also very involved in the Irish dance community, I have now retired from dancing but our daughter has danced with Rince Na Chroi for 5 years now.
