Tell us a little about your family – parents, siblings, pets, etc.
I am the middle child to my parents, Lisa and Alberto Acosta. I have an older sister, Teanna, and a younger brother, Tamren. We have two cats, both orange tabby’s, named Binx and Boots.
What are some of your hobbies and/or interests?
I enjoy playing lacrosse, volunteering in my free time, and supporting others in whatever they need!
Tell us about a favorite school memory (any grade)
My favorite high school memory would probably have to be when we went into triple overtime in lacrosse against Becker. We were all playing super hard, and it was just a fun game overall!
Tells us about a favorite teacher, coach, school staff member, etc. who made a difference in your life/education (can include more than one and any grade).
My favorite teacher would definitely be Mr. Froiland. I have had him 3 out of my 4 years of high school and he’s always made class fun! He always knows how to answer questions, and somehow knows everything you ask him. He’s very caring and always looks forward to teaching.
What has been your favorite subject to study in school and why?
My favorite subject to study in school is Science. I think I like it so much because it always changes and you’re constantly learning something new. It never gets boring, especially with a good teacher.
What has been the most challenging part of senior year for you?
Probably time management. Finding time to do school work, and keeping up with everything.
What has been the best part of senior year?
Getting even closer to friends and gaining more freedom.
Have you made any plans for after graduation (additional schooling, work, etc.) and if so, what are they?
I will be attending Hamline University. I plan to major in Forensic Science with a minor in Biology, with hopes to work in a CSI lab after college.
Where do you see yourself in 5, 10 years? What goals do you have for the future?
In 10 years, I see myself being successful with a job I enjoy. Hopefully married with a few kids, and traveling a lot.
Tell us a one or two dreams/bucket list items you have for yourself
Number 1 on my bucket list is definitely skydiving, but I also really hope to travel to Italy or Greece.
Are there any classmates who made a positive difference in your life/education that you would like to mention?
Jaycie Bergherr, she has been my best friend since I moved here in 6th grade. She has always been there for me, and supported me the whole way. I couldn’t thank her enough!
What are some things you like about our city of Big Lake in general?
Of course the lake, but I enjoy how little it is. We’re all pretty close knit and the small shops and stops around are what make us the small town we are.
What Big Lake establishments/businesses/restaurants are your favorites?
I really like Advanced Styling here. They do an awesome job. Shoutout to Lacey Baker, she always does an amazing job!
What advice would you give younger students as they continue their education?
Keep in touch with friends, connect with other people. Stay on top of school work, but don’t be afraid to have fun in school.
