Tell us a little about your family – parents, siblings, pets, etc.
I live with my parents Jason and Stephanie Heinen. I have a younger sister, Reese, who is a junior at Big Lake High School. I also have a younger brother, Jacob Heinen, who is a freshman at Big Lake High School. My family has a dog, Duke, who is an 8 year old vizsla.

What are some of your favorite hobbies, activities, sports, interests?
I love to hangout with friends, go wake surfing, and go downhill skiing. I did gymnastics for years and ended this year with my senior season. I also love to travel and experience new things.

Going to state as a gymnastics team.

Tell us about a favorite teacher, coach, or staff member who had influence in your life/education.
My gymnastics coach, Landon Goldsmith, had a great influence on my life. He coached me for almost 10 years. He has taught me many things and always made sure I knew I was supported.

What was your favorite subject to study in school and why?
Math was always my favorite subject to study because I liked problem solving and having one official answer.

Who are you always happy to see and why are you happy to see them?
I am always happy to see my friends because they always know how to put a smile on my face.

What are your plans for after graduation (school, travel, work, etc.)?
After graduation I plan to attend the University of North Dakota and major in Commercial Aviation.

What advice do you have for incoming freshman as they start the high school adventure?
Learn to make the best of high school. Hang out with friends, go to school events, and have fun because 4 years goes by faster than you think.

What has been the highlight of your senior year?
Homecoming week was a big highlight this year.

Where do you imagine yourself 10 years from now?
I imagine myself flying airplanes and traveling the world in 10 years.

Is there anything you wish you could go back and change?
I wish I did not procrastinate, it would have made my life easier.

What are you most grateful for?
I am most grateful for my parents.

What is something (or things) you like about living in, and going to school in, Big Lake?
I like the people and the small town feel.

Where are your favorite places to eat, hang out, shop, etc. in Big Lake?
I like to eat at Willy’s on the Water.
