Tell us a little about your family – parents, siblings, pets, etc.
I have 2 younger brothers and an older sister. I have 2 dogs, both labs.

What are some of your hobbies and/or interests?
I love to paint, do sports – gymnastics and track, and hangout with my friends.

Tell us about a favorite school memory (any grade)
There was a time in 8th grade when my excel math class made a list and signed a petition for reasons Mr. Gindele should be fired, even though we all knew he was one of the best teachers in the school.

Tells us about a favorite teacher, coach, school staff member, etc. who made a difference in your life/education (can include more than one and any grade).
Both of my gymnastics coaches, Amy and Lanny, who have coached me from the time I joined the excel gymnastics team in 5th grade up to my senior year. They both taught me how to be confident, persevere, and work hard towards my goals. They always had their athletes’ best interests in mind and would always support us throughout the years. They are a huge part of why we came out to be state champions my freshman and senior year.

What has been your favorite subject to study in school and why?
I really love the anatomy classes I have taken, but really any class that Mr. Froiland teaches is one that I enjoy. I’m pursuing a degree in Pre-Med in college, so it checks out that I would enjoy anatomy and biology classes. Anything to do with the human body really sparks my interest.

What has been the most challenging part of senior year for you?
The most challenging part of senior year has definitely been the balance of school, work, and sports. There have been weeks where I have not been able to get home each day until after 9 pm, which has definitely made it a struggle to find time to incorporate homework, studying, and other hobbies.

What has been the best part of senior year?
The best part of my senior year has definitely been winning the state gymnastics tournament. It had been such a surreal experience to make it to state as a team each year I had been on the gymnastics team and come out to win it for a second time my senior year. I couldn’t be more grateful for how much fun this meet was. It wasn’t the average stress-filled meet. We all showed up and had the time of our lives all while hitting 20 for 20 routines.

Have you made any plans for after graduation (additional schooling, work, etc.) and if so, what are they?
After high school, I’ll be attending the University of Iowa with a major in pre-medicine. I plan to try for medical school after receiving my bachelors degree in order to pursue my ultimate goal of being an anesthesiologist.

Where do you see yourself in 5, 10 years? What goals do you have for the future?
In five years, I should hopefully be starting my first year of med school, In ten years, I hope to be matched for a residency somewhere around the country. My ultimate goal for my future is to be the best person I can be no matter the situation.

Tell us a one or two dreams/bucket list items you have for yourself
I would really love to visit Ireland sometime soon. I have lots of family there that I have not yet met and it’s just an overall beautiful country that I’d love to get the chance to see.

What are some things you like about our city of Big Lake in general?
I really love the size of big lake. It’s small enough that everyone knows a little bit about a lot of people, but also not so small that you can’t meet new people.

What Big Lake establishments/businesses/restaurants are your favorites?
I really love Grind Nutrition! The staff and overall energy every time I go there is amazing.

What advice would you give younger students as they continue their education?
My best advice to younger students is to always work towards your goals, no matter how hard it gets. The end result will always be worth it if you work hard.
