Tell us a little about your family – parents, siblings, pets, etc.
I live with my mom Wendy, dad Brian and my brother Evan. I have a dog named Ellie and a cat named Cottonheaded Ninnymuggins. Those who know know.

What are some of your favorite hobbies, activities, sports, interests?

I love playing football with all of my teammates. I just joined lacrosse to play with my best friends. I love lifting weights and playing my saxophone. I enjoy playing dungeons and dragons on Sundays.

Share a favorite school memory from any grade.
My favorite memory was my school trip to Costa Rica with my Biology teacher, Mr. Froiland and my best friends all came along.

Tell us about a favorite teacher, coach, or staff member who had influence in your life/education.
My favorite teacher is Mr. Froiland. I’m very thankful for him sparking my interest in the study of Biology and I will continue it into college. He has really set me up to be successful and I appreciate it a lot.

What was your favorite subject to study in school and why?
My life science classes have to be my favorite. Mostly my Human Biology and Environmental Science classes because I love learning about the way that our world and bodies work and how to give us a sustainable life.

Who are you always happy to see and why are you happy to see them?
I’m always happy to see my mom because we are so alike and I love sitting down and watching shows with her and my dad.

What are your plans for after graduation (school, travel, work, etc.)?
I plan to go to St. Olaf college where I will be studying Biology and playing football. Right now I want to go into some work to help the environment and maybe surveying populations of animals.

What advice do you have for incoming freshman as they start the high school adventure?
Work really hard when you are in Highschool especially because this is where you learn many life lessons and smile as much as you can because it spreads and you can maybe brighten someone elses day.

What has been the highlight of your senior year?
I’d have to say being nominated for my Triple A award, which I’m very proud of.

 

 

 

 

 

Where do you imagine yourself 10 years from now?
I imagine myself with a wife and kids, working my dream job.

Is there anything you wish you could go back and change?
I wish I would’ve practiced my saxophone more when I was younger because I’ve gotten kind of good at it recently and I wonder where I would be at now if I would’ve.

What are you most grateful for?
To be from such an amazing family who supports me no matter what.

What is something (or things) you like about living in, and going to school in, Big Lake?
I love how close the community is and all of the good people here. I love knowing all of the kids in my grade and growing up with them over the years.

Where are your favorite places to eat, hang out, shop, etc. in Big Lake?
My favorite place to hangout is my gym Anytime Fitness. My favorite place to eat is Cambo Flare.
