My name is Kaelyn Dietz. I am in 11th grade at Big Lake High School and I’m involved with Student Council, EPIC, National Honor Society, Tennis, and Gymnastics Team Manager. I’m also an AP student and spend a lot of time putting work into my education. I reigned from 2022-2023 as a Big Lake Senior Ambassador and plan to pursue other pageants in the future. Following this school year I will begin my work as Varsity Tennis captain for the 2024-25 school year.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I am the oldest of 7 siblings with 3 brother and 3 sisters, I love spending as much time with all of them as possible!
Q: How long have you lived and/or worked in Big Lake?
I have lived in Big Lake since the summer after 5th grade, so about 6 years.
Q: Tell us about your current, past, or future career.
In the future I hope to attend medical school to become an anesthesiologist or CRNA.
Q: What is your favorite TV Show, Movie, Book? (Please list as many as you’d like!)
My favorite TV show is Grey’s Anatomy and my favorite book is “When You Reach Me” by Rebecca Stead.
Q: What are some of your favorite hobbies or pastimes?
Some of my favorite pastimes include tennis, reading, crafts, and lately managing the high school gymnastics team!
Q: What is one thing on your bucket list?
Participate in a ride along with a firefighter!
Q: What would you buy/do if you won the lottery?
If I won the lottery I would 100% donate to the Big Lake community food shelf, as I love volunteering there! and if there’s money left over a new car would be nice. lol
Q: What has been a challenge you have had to overcome? (Life, School, Work, etc.)
A challenge I have had to face in my life is my social anxiety. I have always been a super shy kid and have struggled to connect with new people because of it. One thing that allowed me to overcome this challenge was participating in the Big Lake Ambassador program, they helped me better my public speaking skills and create friendships with new people from all over the state!
Q: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
If I could change one thing, I would want to be better at spelling, but thank goodness for autocorrect!
Q: Who has been a hero in your life?
My mom had been a hero in my life, because of kind heart, and how she always does what’s best for me
Q: What is your proudest accomplishment?
My proudest accomplishment is being voted most congenial for the 2022-23 ambassador year. This meant a lot to me because it was voted on by my peers, who I spent countless hours with during candidate events and it’s showed me how much I was admired.

Q: What is one of your favorite things about Big Lake?
The community events on the lake are my favorite during the summer, especially the farmers market!
Q: What advice would you give to people living in Big Lake?
Just be kind, you never know what someone is going through behind closed doors.
